From our inception we recognized that essential to combating fraud is in-depth security skills. Fraud is only conducted by those that can remain anonymous and any fraud solution that focuses just on data will neglect a critical dimension of the problem.

The emergence of botnets and "stealth proxies" in fraud vindicates the necessity for Device Intelligence and quality of a security skills to deliver this in product for use in e-commerce. We would love to share the depth of security knowledge in the team we have built - but here are just a few key members.

Management


Reed Taussig, President and CEO

Reed Taussig has more than 30 years of experience in the computer hardware and software field. Prior to joining ThreatMetrix, Mr. Taussig was president and CEO of Vormetric Inc., a leader in the data privacy and protection industry. Under Mr. Taussig's direction Vormetric established itself as a leading provider of encryption solutions for the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS).
Mr. Taussig also served as President and CEO of Callidus Software [NASDAQ:CALD], the leading provider of Enterprise Incentive Management application systems. As founding CEO and the fifth employee, Mr. Taussig led the growth of company to more than $70 million in revenues and over 350 employees.
Prior to Callidus Mr. Taussig was the President and CEO of inquiry.com, a pioneer in the B2B internet space as well as Senior Vice President of Operations for Gupta Technologies the leader for PC client server software development tools and databases. Mr. Taussig holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Arizona.

David Jones, CTO and VP of Engineering

Mr. Jones co-founded ThreatMETRIX in 2005. He has more than 15 years experience in technical and management roles within the software industry. Prior to co-founding ThreatMETRIX Mr. Jones founded SpamMATTERS delivering products used by Federal Government enforcement agencies for tracking Phishing and Spamming operations.
At Surfcontrol, he was VP of Global Research, a leading internet content filtering company that has most recently been acquired by WebSENSE. Among his major achievements at SurfControl was the management of the Email Filtering and flagship anti-spam solutions generating over 30% of company revenues.
Mr. Jones arrived at his position at SurfControl when EmU Tech, another company he founded, was acquired by SurfControl in 2001. Mr. Jones holds a B.E. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Technology, Sydney.

Alisdair Faulkner, VP of Product Management

Alisdair Faulkner has over a decade of experience delivering mission critical technology to global markets. At ThreatMETRIX Mr Faulkner is responsible for Product Management and Strategic Accounts. Prior to ThreatMETRIX, Mr Faulkner was a Founder and Business Development Director of NetPriva, leading network performance software provider, acquired by Expand Networks. Prior to acquisition, NetPriva's customer's included VW Bank, Alcatel, Daimler Chrysler and Belkin Technologies.
Mr Faulkner came to NetPriva with the acquisition of the assets and IP of Foursticks where he was a co-founder and responsible for Product Management.
He holds a Masters of Engineering in Information Technology & Telecommunications from Adelaide University, a Grad.Dip in Applied Finance from the Securities Institute Australia and is a graduate of the AICD Company Directors Course.

Neil Katz - Chief Financial Officer

Neil Katz is the Chief Financial Officer of ThreatMETRIX since 2007. Neil has over 20 years of of experience in finance, accounting and general management roles across a number of industries During the past seven years Neil has held the positions of CFO with Hicom International, Aptrix and Sensory Networks - all being innovative and high growth start up companies in the engineering and IT sectors. Neil has extensive experience in corporate restructuring, capital raising activities and played a key role in the sale of Aptrix to IBM.
Neil holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree in Financial Management obtained from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.

John Rountree - Director, Global Fraud and Risk Solutions

Mr. Rountree was most recently Director, International Payments Risk Products at Paypal, an eBay company. John brings over 12 years of experience in consumer credit risk and fraud risk management. John has held a number of risk management positions with financial services companies including: PayPal, Washington Mutual, and Citigroup. In his various roles, John has been responsible for new account acquisition credit policies and existing customer management balance growth.
Specifically in the area of fraud, John has been responsible for driving on-line (card-not-present) risk policies and analytics to achieve industry-leading fraud loss rates. He has managed fraud policies across funding sources including: credit card, bank (ACH), and stored balance. John has also been instrumental in developing strategies for new market segments such as mobile payments and on-line remittances. He has extensive international experience and has launched risk management solutions in Europe and Asia. John has an MBA from the University of Wisconsin(Madison), and prior to that attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor where he received his bachelor's degree.

Erik Andersen - Director, Payments Processing

Mr. Andersen brings to ThreatMETRIX extensive experience in the payments and credit card industry around the world over a period of 30+ years, with an emphasis on technical and leadership roles.
Formerly CTO Asia Pacific First Data (a position he held four years), Erik occupied many management and technical positions from joining in this leading payment processor in 1994.
For the past 25 years, Erik has focused on technical and organizational leadership around secure, reliable, high availability payment processing platforms. He has significant experience across a broad scope of technical, operational, management, and business aspects of credit card and payment processing.
He was an early adopter in credit card processing, ATM and POS programs with banks in the US, Erik filled various technical and project management roles with eFunds around Europe and successfully led the implementation of payment processing platforms at major banks and processing companies in the UK and the UAE.

Scott Thomas - Director, ThreatCENTER, Bots and Malware

Mr. Thomas co-founded ThreatMETRIX in 2005 and is responsible for ThreatCENTER sensor network, partnerships with external parties, Government and enforcement. Since inception, Mr. Thomas has been the key manager and technical lead for the provision of ThreatMETRIX's range of investigative and forensic tools for tracking fraudsters, botnets, spamming and phishing operations to government agencies.
Scott is one of the foremost experts in Email hacking techniques and Malware distribution. He is a veteran software engineer in the email filtering industry from 2000 and was the lead developer for automated email Analysis and rules engine of the Surfcontrol (now WebSENSE) Email Filter. He has delivered commercial-grade Internet products since 1997 commencing with Turbosoft range of terminal emulation products.
Scott has held professional software development roles for over 12 years And holds a Bachelor of Information Technology Degree.

David Jones - CTO

Peter Relan - Chairman

Peter brings over twenty years of domain expertise, as well as technology and executive management experience as Chairman to ThreatMETRIX. Formerly the Founder of CEO of Business Signatures Corporation (www.businesssignatures.com) he led the company from inception through to acquisition by Entrust Corporation (NASDAQ : ENTU) for its Bank Fraud detection.
At Oracle, Peter was Vice President of its Internet Division, responsible for creating Oracle's Application Server and E-Commerce Applications. At Hewlett-Packard he was principal architect of the Open View enterprise platform. Before co-founding Business Signatures in 2001, he was founding senior vice president of Technology and CIO for two years at Webvan Group, where he was responsible for the technology organization and CRM platform, including software development, IT Operations, and application support. Peter holds a B. S. degree in computer science from UCLA and an M. S. degree in management from Stanford University.


Mark Gill - CM Capital

Mr Gill joined CM Capital in 2006 and is involved in all aspects of IT and Telecommunication investments.
Over the past 16 years Mark as acted in General Management, Chief Executive, and Global Sales/Marketing capacities, with a central theme of building organizations to take technology to the global market developing, selling and delivering complex systems to over 30 countries and managing globally diverse technology companies Mark has been involved in the many challenges facing entrepreneurs and managers in these sectors, including capital raising in several continents.
In early 1994 Mark became CEO of a telecom software products company Pacific Star Technologies. concluding a successful trade sale to Nasdaq listed Claremont in 1997. Subsequently, CEO at satellite modem developer, DSpace, Mr Gill drove the company to profitability and in 2006 executed a trade sale to a large US Corporation.

Allan Aaron, General Partner, Technology Venture Partners

Allan is one of the two founding partners of Technology Venture Partners, which is a specialist investor in the IT&T sector with over $200m in funds under management. Allan was a founding executive with the Australian Technology Group and has been involved in early stage venture capital for the past 15 years, three of which were spent in Silicon Valley. Prior to this, he spent 8 years in Management Consulting with McKinsey & Company and as a Director of the Ernst & Young's Management and Technology Consulting practice. Allan has also spent several years in professional and system engineering roles as well as marketing with IBM Australia. Allan has been a member of Ausindustry's ITC committee overseeing Commercial Ready Grants and the Concessional Loans Committee. He is a member of the Australian Venture Capital Associations (AVCAL) council. He represents TVP on the Board of Directors of Clear2Pay BV, Peregrine Semiconductor Inc, Sensory Networks Inc, and ThreatMETRIX. He holds an Honours degree in Aerospace Engineering and a Master of Business Administration and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
