Digital Identity Summit 2018: Paris and The Power to Predict
Posted May 14, 2018
As the French might put it, “Génial!” After all, I’m in Paris, where I’m looking forward to the first Digital Identity Summit of 2018.
The theme of this year’s event is “The Power to Predict,” which focuses on digital identity’s role in helping businesses thrive in the cognitive, always-on era. It’s a timely topic for a digital economy where knowing what customer identity attributes matter to your business is essential. And where understanding why, when and how they matter is a game changer.
This year, our parent company LexisNexis® Risk Solutions joins PwC as Diamond Sponsors. And they’ll share the stage with VISA and other partners to impart strategic insights into how businesses can transition from an interdiction and mitigation approach toward cyberthreats to actively anticipating them and predictively rooting out fraudsters before they have a chance to act.
Reed Taussig, Executive Advisor for ThreatMetrix, Alisdair Faulkner, Chief Products Officer and CTO Andreas Baumhof will again be providing their keen insights. And this year, they’ll be joined by Mark Kelsey, CEO of Risk and Business Analytics for RELX Group, and Thomas C. Brown, SVP, U.S. Commercial Markets and Global Market Development for LexisNexis Risk Solutions.
I’m also looking forward to hearing former Olympus CEO Michael Woodford’s true-life account of uncovering fraud and corruption from within. In fact, with a lineup that includes Catherine Vidal, GM for Banque Casino, David Fapohunda, Director of the Financial Crimes Unit at PwC, and so many other industry thought leaders, this year’s Summit promises to be nothing short of well, Génial.
As hard as it is to believe, this is the eighth year of this Summit, and looking back, it’s humbling to see just how far we’ve come. In a relatively short time, we’ve gone from fighting fraud to creating the world’s largest real-time digital identity network. Now, with the Power to Predict, we take another enormous step forward to give businesses the insights they need for a safer, secure and more profitable future as they navigate mobile and online channels and win in the digital economy.
From my perspective, it has been gratifying to see our digital identity solutions being used by our customers more than 100 million times daily to provide a secure and frictionless experience for their customers.
As Digital Identity Summit 2018 gets into high gear, I hope you’ll follow the events as they happen. We’ll be live streaming via Twitter Livestream starting at 9 a.m. CEST on May 15. And please follow us on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn as we post updates using #DIsummit18.
