ThreatMetrix to Discuss Botnets, Cyber Attacks in Mobile Payments Industry Workgroup Panel
Posted November 11, 2015
Our Chief Products Officer, Alisdair Faulkner, is on the east coast this week to join the Mobile Payments Industry Workgroup (MPIW) panel on November 12 at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. From card-on-file tokenization to mobile in-app payments, the discussion will highlight a variety of tools and technologies that can aid e-commerce businesses in balancing online security, safety and user convenience.
Alisdair will address the migration of attacks to online channels, focusing specifically on botnets taking over registered accounts along with attacks on card issuance and account opening by fraudsters. Nathan Wood of Cybersource, Angel Grant from RSA/EMC and Mark Bergner of Worldpay will join Alisdair on the panel.
Convened in January 2010 by the Federal Reserve Banks of Boston and Atlanta, the MPIW is comprised of a select group of thought leaders in the U.S. mobile payments ecosystem. The MPIW meets several times annually to share information, discuss barriers and opportunities within the mobile payments industry and suggest a course of action that will lead to an effective, secure and ubiquitous mobile payments environment in the U.S. As the number of cyberattacks continues to rise, these discussions will help businesses outline the necessary steps needed to protect customers from fraud.
