Leading Payment Gateway Provider Cites ThreatMetrix’s Ability to Handle Web Payments and New Account Originations in One Solution
LOS ALTOS, CA. – March 17, 2011 – ThreatMetrix™ , the fastest growing provider of cloud-based fraud prevention solutions that do not require personally identifiable information (PII), today announced that Maas Global Solutions (MGS), a leading technology and payment gateway company that provides transaction processing for financial and non-financial customers, has selected ThreatMetrix to help detect and prevent online fraud and abuse for its Paymentsite.com gateway customers.
MGS has business relationships with many of the largest payment processors in the U.S. Their Paymentsite.com gateway is integrated with RBS Worldplay, TSYS Merchant Solutions (formerly First National Merchant Solutions), Heartland Payment Systems, Chase Paymentech and FDC North for credit card processing and Jack Henry’s Profit Stars for ACH and check processing.
“In building the MGS brand it’s important for us to establish relationships with companies that are best-in-class,” said Troy Maas, president and CEO, Maas Global Solutions. “After a review of competitive offerings, it was clear to me that ThreatMetrix provides a superior fraud prevention solution that we can efficiently incorporate into our Paymentsite.com solution.”
According to Maas, MGS plans to utilize the ThreatMetrix Fraud Network for web payments and new account originations on its Paymentsite.com solution which manages the entire payments cycle for merchants from any computer with an Internet connection.
“We like the fact that ThreatMetrix has one integrated solution for these different use cases so we don’t have to cobble together different offerings,” said Maas. “We want to tie together the device ID that is used when digital signatures are accepted in online applications for new accounts. An online application may be filled out by a sales rep on behalf of a merchant, or the merchant himself. When you get to the end of the application, you have to insert a digital signature on the terms and conditions. While we’ve already authenticated their identity when they click on the digital signature, it’s valuable to confirm the device ID as well.”
“ThreatMetrix is pleased to work with Maas Global Solutions in providing powerful fraud detection and prevention capabilities to their Paymentsite.com solution,” said Bert Rankin, vice president of marketing, ThreatMetrix. “Paymentsite.com merchant customers will benefit by being able to stop fraud at the first attempt in real-time, even if it is the first time that the device has visited their Website.”
