Device binding allows users to transact on trusted devices without repetitive authentications. This process securely links an authorized user to their device by leveraging SIM card hardware or the secure, tamper-resistant element of supported mobile devices.
As trust is built over time, devices can be used as an authenticator in other apps and channels, reducing friction and improving online experience.
Device binding can occur through reliable and consistent verification of the transacting device by registering the device and binding it with a user credential. Then, validating the returning device on subsequent interactions. Or it can bind a SIM card to a transacting device.
